The ROI Approach is a highly successful framework at the core of our business. It is not a proprietary methodology of scripted interviews and workshops or a computer-based tool that devalues content knowledge and creative thinking. We understand that if they remain static, eBusiness systems provide limited value. Our framework and principles specifically address the dynamic needs of eBusiness by incorporating the flexibility to recognize current and emerging trends in information technology and eBusiness.
Our approach addresses both the Business Operational View (BOV) used to describe the business aspects of eBusiness, and the Functional Service View (FSV) used to describe the technical implementation. It is comprised of four stages:
Conceptualize:
Define business results, strategy, business model, and initiatives (end-focused, rather than means-focused)
Design:
Scope and design the business application and supporting software and infrastructure (designing the means to accomplish the end)
Engineer:
Rapidly develop and deliver applications that generate results (means focused to the end)
Evolve:
Revisit the solution and evolve it over time in response to changing business and technology environment (evolving the end and adapting the means to it)
Knowledge Management is at the core of ROI's day-to-day operations. It provides us with a competitive advantage by:
Knowledge sharing is an explicit goal of each engagement. Through our extranet we share information securely with each of our clients. We intentionally extend knowledge beyond industry boundaries. As we increase our expertise in each of our client's industries, we are able to cross-pollinate ideas and knowledge from inside as well as outside a given industry.
Risk management is an important priority. By working within our tested framework, ROI is able to effectively mitigate the three areas of information technology risk.
